Other

Making decisions based on others gets you nowhere.

Realizing that others worry about themselves before they worry about you should be the obvious

Yet, you sit, and wait, and hope receiving NOTHING.

Others do, have done, and still move forward; with or without you.

Other than you, nothing else should matter.

First.

Color Out Side The Lines Documentary Review By Pat

Being a black male whom can be considered heavily tattooed, I jumped at the opportunity to attend a screening of a documentary created by one of the most premiere black tattoo artist in America named Miya Bailey.  The premise of this movie was to show a glimpse of a culture, which in most “civilized” societies, is frowned upon.  Interviews with other talented established black tattoo artist throughout the country gives great incite into a world which most people including myself was ignorant on. The general consensus of their opinions about the commercialization of tattoos and the grievances shared give a better appreciation and understanding for the artist behind the tattoo gun.  This documentary also goes beyond just the actual craft, but delves into the lives of these people that have dedicated them to this form of art. The documentary gives a commentary on the lack of respect not only for the world of tattooing and being tattooed, but for the actual talent and abilities black artist have in the industry. Most of all, where this movie shines, is its ability to execute a message, which participants in this taboo culture struggle to articulate—this is a LIFESTYLE, not a fashion statement or a trend.
